I cannot tell you how thrilled I was to find you. I found your shop, through Brilinn Yarn Company as you are their USA yarn provider. I have been knitting all my life, far too many decades to count. Learned sitting at my grannies knee in Glasgow. I am knitting socks, watching you girls, and enjoying all the episodes that I have watched, I need to catch up. It’s always nice to sit and listen to someone who sounds like me and uses words like blether.

Thank you so much for Ruth's inspiration. I have yet to crochet a sweater, even though I have that book she mentioned. This just might inspire me to make one.

On my last colorwork sweater with a very wooly wool i made my steeks too small ( too few stitches) and out of desperation used needle felting to make the strands hold together better. I had used my sewing machine to stabilize but it was just too narrow. It worked so well!!!! Another jam packed episode, loved it.

I really love the crochet pattern suggestions! I have been knitting a lot more than crocheting over the past year or so because I had a hard time finding crochet patterns that had the features I was looking for in a sweater or top, and a lot of these are just the type of thing I'd like to crochet!

Although not a crocheted I really enjoyed seeing Ruth's ideas for sweaters and her 2 adorable animals. 🇬🇧

Thanks for an upbeat chat with so much yarny goodness! Any thoughts on moth invaders and ways you like to keep all our yarn safe? I use lavender sachets. Any other ideas?

Ah... Ruth, thank you so much for your segment on crochet sweaters. It was such a joy to watch and learn from you. I just finished crocheting the Granny Go Round Cardigan at the end of August. I used yarns I purchased from Rachel's flock on Fair Isle and Blacker yarns from stash from TWT! It is a wonderful crochet pattern and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to give a crochet sweater a try!

Ruth’s segment was great! I moved away from crochet a number of years ago because there weren’t many garment patterns. So it was amazing to see a variety of amazing sweaters/cardigans that can be crochet - just mind blowing! So much potential in that craft - the textures were spectacular!❤

Hi Ruth, one of the reasons I have never liked crochet is bcz of the "hole-y" look of the stitches. I can make a chain & can probably crochet a single or double stitch across &/or around a scrap blanket for added stability. Other than using the crochet hook for picking up dropped stitches in my knitting I havent crocheted anything since a scrap blanket over 30+ years ago! Ur choice of patterns & FO's has shown me that that "hole-y" type look isnt the only way crochet looks when done! U have made some beautiful sweaters in crochet! Question for u Ruth - can u show in a tutorial where u would properly pick up the beginning & end stich of a row (on any pattern) so said edge isnt wonky, ie., wavy or goes "in & out" bcz I cant find either end stitch & Im just guessing where those stitches are located??? I hope that made sense?? Thanx! Kim - thanks for the hip stretches! I did those many years ago to help my back & I should def. start again, even if it will be at a slow pace! Gotta start somewhere!! Haha!

I have crocheted for decades. I have been disappointed with the clothing pieces I’ve made in the past, but I think I need to try again.

I'm currently crocheting my first sweater and absolutely love it! I used to think that crochet was only good for blankets, but after browsing different Ravelry patterns, I decided to crochet a simple round yoke sweater using Jamieson & Smith's 2-ply jumper weight yarn in a chocolate colour. It's flying off my hook! In love! 🥰 - Thank you for the inspiration!
